3rd day: IQUITOS AMAZONAS SINCHICUY LODGE -TAMBO YANAYACU LODGE

FLORA AND FAUNA PROGRAM
Primary jungle reserve exploring in Yanayacu River ecosystem. Sail on the Amazon in an open boat to the strategic point to watch pink river dolphins, main characters of fantastic stories and legends from the Amazon myths. Arrival to Huashalado village for a short walk to Yanayacu River, where another boat will be waiting to take you to our Tambo Yanayacu Lodge. As you sail, you will enter to the so called “kingdom of the giant trees” because of the size reached by some species, among them the “lupuna” tree.. This is a suitable place for birds since the fish found in the river and the fruit from plants that grow on its edges are their main source of feeding. In the same way, the deep and and easily flooded forest offers the best possibilities for nestling. With a little of luck, you can watch monkeys moving along the high tree tops or a sloth or “pelejo” hanging from a branch, mimic and thus making itself almost unseen.
Arrival to Tambo Yanayacu Lodge. Lunch.
Hike in jungle-trail or canoe ride –according to the season- through primary jungle in which you will watch the particularities of plants and trees from this ecosystem, among the Victoria Regia, a water lilac found in lakes or “cochas” which reaches a 6-foot diameter. In this area it is also possible to see the “Hoatzin” or “Shansho”, a particular bird with primitive features which eats the tree leaves. Return to the Tambo Amazonico Lodge

4th day: IQUITOS TAMBO YANAYACU LODGE
Excursion at dawn on Yanayacu River to watch the existing variety of birds, just to mention: egrets, kingfisher, hawks among others. Breakfast at the Tambo Yanayacu Lodge.
Excursion to Yagua Cocha (lake) and its surroundings. Walk in the thick lower forest where you will see a variety of plants and insects. Return to the lodge. Lunch.
In the afternoon visit to a local village to observe their customs and way of life.
Return to the lodge. Dinner. Accomodation.

5th day TAMBO YANAYACU LODGE - IQUITOS - LIMA
Breakfast.
Return to Iquitos. At a suitable time transfer to the airport or hotel.
Reception and transfer to the selected hotel. Accomodation at your hotel in Lima.
City tour. Private service. An outstanding tour will take us to the ancient and the modern sides of this charming city. In the ancient or traditional zone we will appreciate: the Main Square, the Cathedral, the Government Palace, the City Hall, Desamparados train station and the old streets with their moorish style mansions built in vicerroyal times. We will also visit the Church of San Francisco with its convent, the colonial art museum, cloisters and catacombs. etc. The tour will continue to the most traditional residential and commercial areas of the city: San Isidro and Miraflores with its Central Park. We will finish the tour with an spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean and Miraflores beaches. We will go later to Gold Museum, a private collection owned by Mr. Manuel Mujica Gallo. The exhibition includes gold pieces of Pre-Inca cultures, specially Mochica, Chimu and Nazca. Return to the hotel. Accomodation.
