DESCRIPTION OF THE TOUR
The Inca was the result of many other cultures which had existed before it for about 3,000 years, and from which the Incas took the best. Despite the absence of the wheel and of a system of writing, it archieved a high level of civilization, with massive stone and abobe buildings and an extensive system of roads. The incas showed skill in terracing, irrigation and mining and produced fine textiles, metalwork and pottery. In order to understand its magnificence it is necessary to know who they were and what we have inherited from them.
Visit the National Archaeological, Antropoly and History Museum of Peru * (entrance is included). Peruvian civilization from pre-historic times. It is considered the most significant and complete museum in Peru. It has a collection of antique Peruvian ceramics (75,000 pieces). The chronological development of pre-hispanic Peruvian cultures is shown through a great deal of objects of stone, metal and wood, physical antropology and an impressive collection of paintings and clothings.
Supplement this visit by going to Huaca Pucllana **, the archaeological administrative complex of Lima culture, that represents all the legacy of the society that developed in the central coast of Peru, between 200 and 700 years A.C.
It is possible to see an archaeological excavation at the complex and at the same time appreciate the reconstruction of walls and areas of the ceremonial centre. Huaca Pucllana is located in the heart of Miraflores.
IMPORTANT NOTES :
- *The National Archaeology Museum opens from Tuesday to Saturday from 9 am to 5:00 pm, and Sundays until 4:00. Mondays are close.
- **La Huaca Pucllana opens from Wednesdays to Monday, from 09:00 am to 04:30 pm. It is closed on Tuesdays.
- It is advisable not to take this tour on Monday and on Tuesday, as these museums are closed.
- A minimum of 02 passengers are needed to start this tour. ( If there were only one passenger, the visits will be to Larco Museum and Archaeological Museum )
